Course Description:

Learn how to make your electronic documents more accessible for people with disabilities. This course will cover key concepts for creating accessible documents in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as an introduction to accessible PDFs.  This course is taught by a Division of Information Technology instructor.

Prerequisites:

  • Windows or Mac experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office strongly recommended

Course Outline:

  • Defining content and structure with headings, lists, and tables
  • Using layout and design to improve readability
  • Enhancing the accessibility of images, charts and graphs, and links
  • Correcting common issues using the Accessibility Checker
  • Following a basic workflow for accessible PDFs
