Course Description:

EMPLOYEE & ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT: This workshop focuses on exploring the role that culture plays in our daily interactions with others. This interactive session provides participants with the opportunity to examine both the challenges and opportunities that result from an increasingly diverse workforce and examines ways to develop cultural competence. This course is open to all Texas A&M employees.

Required Prerequisite

  • TrainTraq Online Course #2111243 Introduction to Diversity and Inclusion

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the dimensions of diversity and inclusion
  • Examine our own and other's cultural identity and cultural filters
  • Develop a basic understanding of power and privilege
  • Explain how we are socialized to experience, value, and engage in the world
  • Identify skills to respond to insensitive and/or inappropriate remarks and behaviors
  • Identifying actions toward inclusion and cultural competence
