Course Description:

HUMAN RESOURCES & ORGANIZATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS: This course is designed for employees who have a role in creating and/or maintaining Texas A&M University websites and/or web content (e.g., web designers, web developers, and content contributors).  Learn what steps you can take to make your website more accessible to users with disabilities. This includes common design considerations, as well as specific markup that will benefit assistive technology users. Lessons will focus on discussing common barriers, hands-on demonstrations with assistive technologies, and strategies to maximize accessibility.  Throughout the course, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 will be discussed at length. This course is taught by a Division of Information Technology instructor.

Prerequisites

  • Windows or Mac experience
  • Web Accessibility – Essentials (strongly recommended)
  • Strong working knowledge of HTML and CSS
